Our client is a global sports and entertainment marketing company in New York City seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to add to its Finance team. They are looking for a hands-on professional that will assume accounting functions along with oversight of A/R and A/P.
Â· Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practices.
Â· Execute month-end accounting close including journal entries, account reconciliations and various financial reports.
Â· Review and Analyze the general ledger, supporting ledgers and financial schedules.
Â· Create and prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts and reports on operations results and variances to budget.
Â· Forecasts, monitors and tracks cash flow reports while identifying and evaluating variances.
Â· Reviews and maintains billing processes and contractual agreements to reconcile revenue.
Â· Performs key elements of the general accounting cycle and supporting subsidiary processes within the established policies and procedures of the company.
Â· Prepares and manages detailed variance and fluctuation analyses.
Â· Manages A/R and A/P activities, including identifying potentially problematic accounts.
Â· Reviews Project Management, spending reports and T/E expense reports to ensure accuracy and proper allocation.
Â· Monitors and approves budget-to-actual spending for large experiential marketing budgets over the course of the project, and performs final reconciliations and revenue recognition procedures upon completion
Â· Discuss budgets and spending with project managers on a regular basis in order to provide feedback on budget status and accuracy
Â· Assists in the annual audit.
Â· Assist in the accounting process integration when target companies are acquired.
Â· Promotes a team environment and provides work direction and guidance including coaching, professional development and training.
Â· Undertakes other special projects as requested by management.
Â· Investigates and fields inquiries and requests from internal customers and external vendors.
Â· Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Â· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Â· Minimum four (4) years accounting experience with some supervisory experience
Â· Public Accounting Experience is a plus
Â· CPA Preferred
Â· Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP
