Position Statement:

Our client has retained us to fill an opening for a Managing Partner– Tax & Business Advisory Services to lead their Cincinnati Office.  This is an opportunity to lead a $2.5M, 15-person practice with a growing and dynamic firm.  This position provides the right candidate the opportunity to lead, develop and grow the Cincinnati office.  This office, which is primarily a tax focused practice, provides clients with thought leadership on federal tax, state and local tax, assurance, forensics and dispute advisory services, and support of other practice areas.

This individual will be responsible for all aspects of profitability and success of the Cincinnati practice.  They will effectively lead and support the growth of other associates and will attract new business to the Firm. 


Management & Leadership

  • Leading and overseeing business plan for Cincinnati Office
  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding annual budget in conjunction with Director of Finance and Director of Tax
  • Monitors utilization and realization statistics, intervenes in situations where metrics are substandard.  Creates accountability to reduce wasted time and inefficiencies.
  • Accountable for firm and tax department communications related to strategies, goals, plans, budgets, results and expectations
  • Collaborates and oversees development of Cincinnati team and ensures that plans are created for adequate training and education.
  • Leads by example and holds others accountable to firm policies, procedures and brand attributes


  • Work with team to properly delegate client service tasks to team members effectively.
  • Make timely and sound decisions.
  • Supply the resources needed by associates to produce expected results and obtain set goals.
  • Consistently achieve targets for realization, utilization and collection of A/R established by firm
  • Consistently improve engagement efficiency.
  • Consistently utilize all firm and department resources efficiently.

Practice Growth:

  • Represent firm and build relationships by attending fundraisers, meetings with prospects/bankers, charitable events, professional organizations, etc.
  • Increase firm revenue by obtaining new clients for the firm, increasing service offerings to existing clients, and obtaining cross-selling engagements.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with referral sources and clients.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Practice Growth to involve appropriate team members in pursuits.
  • Responsible for client engagements and demonstrate strong leadership skills

Client Focus:

  • Consistently oversee and develop a team which delivers outstanding client service.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and projects while exceeding client expectations.
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities for clients served.
  • Apply excellent judgment on client engagement and add value through deep understanding of client’s business/industry and internal/external resources available.
  • Demonstrate ability to grow existing client relationships and remove “D” level clients via retention process.
  • Exhibit behavior consistent with rules of conduct of the AICPA, OSCPA and Accountancy Board of Ohio.


Work Experience and Education:

  • BA or BS in accounting or a related field.
  • Must be a CPA.
  • Strong proficiency in federal tax
  • 12+ years of experience in public accounting.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative background skills written and verbal communication skills, solid research skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently
